Lifeguard and CPR Training

PLEASE READ: Before signing up for any Lifeguard Training, the following must be done:

  • Upon entering the MJCC, we are now requiring everyone to complete the following waiver:

  • A waiver form must be signed by the parent/legal guardian of all guests under the age of 18.

  • The MJCC employs lifeguards ages 16+. Prospective applicants may begin the hiring process up to 30 days prior; however, no lifeguard shifts will be scheduled before their 16th birthday. Please check with the agencies where you intend to apply to confirm their minimum hiring age before registering for lifeguard training.

The American Red Cross Lifeguard training class includes Lifeguard training, CPR for the professional rescuer, Automated External Defibrillator, and First Aid.

Requirements
Must be 16 or older.
Must be able to swim Free Style and/or the Breast Stroke 150 yards, tread water for 2 minutes with no hands, then swim another 50 yards.
Must be able to swim 20 yards; surface dive 7-10 feet and pick up a 10 pound brick; swim another 20 yards on your back, holding the brick.
Must start on the first day, no late registration
Must attend all dates within the session.
Online work must be completed before first class session.



ARC CPR & First Aid Class

This hands-on course teaches lifesaving skills in CPR, AED usage, and basic first aid—empowering you to respond confidently in emergencies at home, work, or out in the community.

ARC CPR & First Aid Class - Blended Learning
Join us for our American Red Cross CPR and First Aid class. Learn and practice lifesaving skills. Online component must be completed before class start time.

Lifeguard Re-Certification Training
The review course is designed to review the lifeguarding skills and core knowledge points required to re-certify in lifeguarding. Please provide the STUDENTS email, name, and phone number. NOT THE PARENTS INFORMATION. Details will be sent after registration. Prerequisite: Current Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED or Shallow Water Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate. (Note: If the Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is expired, participants must take the full Lifeguarding or Shallow Water Lifeguarding course.) Participants must supply their own CPR mask. Masks will be available for purchase.

Lifeguard Blended Learning Certification

Red Cross Babysitting Training
The goal of this class is to empower young adults with the skills needed for childcare, leadership, and first aid skills. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certification in Babysitting Training and Pediatric First Aid/ CPR.
