Frequently Asked Questions
What are camp hours?
Camp hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm. There are options to add on before-camp and after-camp care.
Do you have to be a member of the MJCC to go to camp?
MJCC Day Camp is open to all. MJCC members do receive a reduced rate.
Our family isn’t Jewish. Is the MJCC Day Camp for us?
Absolutely! MJCC Day Camp welcomes all children to participate in our camp experience and to share in our rich Jewish heritage. Both campers and staff come from diverse backgrounds.
What happens in extreme weather conditions?
MJCC Day Camp constantly monitors the weather throughout each day of camp.
During excessively hot weather, we will modify the daily camp schedule and move activities inside when
necessary.
In the event of inclement weather (i.e. thunder and lightning), campers are brought inside, and we will
implement our rainy day schedule.

My child has allergies. How is this handled?
We are ALLERGY AWARE! Before attending camp, you will fill out a health profile for your child(ren). This info allows us to be aware and sensitive to the different needs of all our campers. We will work with all families to accommodate their allergy needs. Please contact the Camp Office at (901) 259-9218 to discuss your child’s allergy needs.
How do I get my childcare tax deductible information?
Please email Karen Bertrand, Senior Account Specialist, at kbertrand@jccmemphis.org and she will be able to assist you.
What should I do if my child is waitlisted for a camp?
If you would like your child to attend MJCC Camp for the week they are waitlisted for, you are encouraged to register for another camp offered the same week. You will not lose your spot on the waitlist, but you will guarantee your child has a spot in camp that week.
Please note that the waitlist order shown in Amilia may not accurately reflect your child’s position on the waitlist. The MJCC reserves the right to adjust the waitlist and may prioritize children who are currently enrolled in MJCC camps or camp sessions.
