Daryl F Rojas

Costa Rican born pianist and teacher, Daryl F Rojas, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in many international venues, competitions and piano festivals.

He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Costa Rica in 2009 with a specialty in Piano Performance. He also was awarded a piano certificate from the John N Corpas Foundation in Colombia and did further graduate work at the Hochschule fur Musik (HfM) Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany. In 2014 he moved to the US to complete a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and also a post-graduate Performance Diploma at the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences, University of Arkansas.  He is currently completing his Doctorate in Piano Performance at the University of Memphis, where he is an assistant professor; teaching undergraduate students, class piano and private students.

Rojas developed his passion for teaching at a young age and believes that developing each student to appreciate and perform music to the best of one’s ability is his highest calling. He has a great deal of experience teaching a wide and diverse group of pupils, from beginner to advanced levels, and strives to enhance both their technical proficiency and musicality.  Daryl is also an active member of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and has presented seminars and workshops at various teaching conferences.

For Daryl, engaging all segments of the community in musical activities means nurturing future generations of aspiring pianists to participate in local efforts and cultivating a sensitive and engaged society through the arts.

Daryl is available for private music lessons. Each lesson is $30 for 30 minutes packed full of age-appropriate instruction. For more information and to set up a time that works for you, please email music@jccmemphis.org.
