Senior Care and Case Management
FJFS at the MJCC enhances the lives of seniors and helps older adults maintain the highest level of independence by providing case management and comprehensive support to them and their loved ones. Geriatric case managers assess, evaluate, and coordinate ongoing support services for senior community members and family caregivers, while providing education and resources on aging issues.
Professional drivers provide homebound senior community members with rides and door-to-door assistance for doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, and more. Reservations must be made through FJFS.
Volunteers will assist homebound seniors with errands and light chores around the house.
Bikkur Chaverim (Friendly Visitors)
Volunteers regularly visit senior community members in their homes to provide companionship and socialization. Volunteers are needed. Contact FJFS to request a visit or to volunteer.
FJFS can provide home-delivered meals to seniors in need while the MIFA congregate meal site at the MJCC allows those who can travel to eat with other members of the community.
Staying in Touch
A volunteer-based program that matches homebound seniors with community volunteers who will regularly contact senior adults via telephone to check on their safety and well-being. In addition, the telephone assurance program can be mobilized in cases of emergency, like natural disaster, to check in on our senior adults.
