April 10–22, the MJCC will be hosting two Israeli Schlichim from the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).

Amit Levinson is a 26 year old Israeli and American, born and raised in Rehovot - located near Tel-Aviv. As a teenager, he was a counselor in the Israeli Scouts. In 2009, he was inducted into the IDF and served for three years in the armored corps as a gunner. Amit was released from service early to go work in a summer camp in New York through the JAFI. In 2013-2015, he was the Shaliach in Rockville, Maryland, where he worked with the Israeli Scouts chapter and was responsible for the Israeli programs at the JCC. Currently, Amit is completing his B.A in Sociology, Anthropology, and Political Science.
Amit enjoys reading, hiking, and conversations over coffee!
Hadar Shahar was born and raised in Jerusalem. Two months after high school, she enlisted to the IDF and served two years as a Sergeant of Operations. Upon completing her duties, she traveled to East Asia and spent 6 months exploring. Hadar returned to Israel and began her B.A in Sociology, Anthropology, and Asian Studies at the Hebrew University. After graduation, she became Community Shlicha to the Jewish community in Howard County, MD for two years. Currently, Hadar is working towards her M.A in Public Policy at the Hebrew University while also working at the Ministry of Finance in Jerusalem.
Hadar enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga, and shopping!
