MJCC Israeli schlichim

Thanks to the generosity of the Lemsky Endowment Fund at the Memphis Jewish Federation, the MJCC will be hosting two Israeli schlichim, April 20-May 3, from the Zionist Seminars Program of the Jewish Agency for Israel. All affiliated programs will be offered to the community at no charge.

   Ayellet Azura

 Yossi Argov


Ayellet Azura is a 28 years old Israeli who was born and raised in Hadera, located Center-North of Israel, by the beach. As a teenager, Ayellet was an activist and volunteer in the Maccabi youth movement in Israel as a teen’s instructor. In 2007, she joined the IDF and served four years as an officer in a technological unit. Following her time in the military, she deepened her connection to Jewish peoplehood through a long-term Shlichut (residency) for the Stamford, CT community. Ayellet received her B.A. in Sociology, Anthropology and Education Studies at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. She currently works for Jewish Agency for Israel as a Brand Strategist and Head of Marketing for the Shlichut program.
Yossi Argov is a 26 year old Israeli who was born and raised on Moshav Nes Harim, which is located near Jerusalem. After graduating high school, Yossi deferred his army service for a year and volunteered working for the Jewish community of Washington, D.C. After then serving as a combat soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces, he worked at a Reform summer camp in South Africa and then as a Shaliach in Vancouver.

Ayellet and Yossi will be speaking and working with groups throughout the community! All events will be free of charge.
