Applications for summer camp employment are still being accepted at the MJCC front desk. Senior and Junior camp counselor positions are described below:
SENIOR COUNSELOR
Oversees all aspects of camp group schedule and programs, and informally supervises Junior Counselor and CIT.
1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. Must have previous experience working with children.
3. Oversees all aspects of camp group functioning.
4. Creates activity plans and submits them to the Camp Director.
6. Supervises Junior Counselor and CIT.
7. Communicates camper issues, program issues, and scheduling issues to Camp Director.
8. Maintains records as required, relating to attendance, medicine, permission slips, swimming, and safety-related information.
9. Creates activities and be ready for formal observation.
10. Assists as needed with all camp special activities.
JUNIOR COUNSELOR
Assists Senior Counselor in all aspects of group functioning.
1. Must be entering 11th or 12th grade.
2. Must have previous experience working with children.
2. Assists Senior Counselor in creating activity plans, instruction and supervision of group activities, and record keeping.
3. Assists, as needed, with special all camp activities.
4. Assists in creating project and/or activities for campers.
