MJCC Day Camp Swim Program
The MJCC is so thrilled about our family water-park. The slides, lazy river, splash pad and play structure will truly enhance every campers swimming experience. All campers will be tested to determine appropriate swim lesson groupings. Testing will occurs for new campers at the beginning of each session.
The Day Camp and Aquatics staff encourages parents to prepare their children for swimming at camp. If your child cannot swim, we suggest that they have lessons before camp begins. Danny Fadgen, our Aquatics Director, will be happy to help you prepare your child for a fun summer in the pool. Instructional swim at camp is done in groups, and your child will feel more comfortable if they have had the experience of a one-on-one swimming lesson.
MJCC Day Camp Wellness Program
Traditionally all MJCC campers have Red Cross Learn to Swim classes in the morning. Because of the strength of the swim program and the Aquatics staff, many of the campers have already graduated from the highest levels of the swim program. For those campers (4th grade & up) who have graduated from the swim program, the professionals from the MJCC Wellness staff will be providing a high energy, age appropriate wellness program. All of the campers will be swim tested the first week of camp. Once they have proven to be proficient beyond Red Cross Level IV, they will be given the option to participate in the wellness program in lieu of swim lessons. The campers who opt for the wellness program will still have free swim in the afternoons.
