Ga-ga literally means “touch-touch” in Hebrew. This fun group game is a variant of dodgeball that is played in the Ga-ga pit.
A game played in a long, high-walled table with 11 wooden balls. Each player gets five balls to arrange however they want at their end of the table, and they take turns trying to knock each other's balls into troughs at each end of the table.
Hebrew for “Sabbath,” Shabbat is traditionally celebrated in the Jewish religion from sundown on Friday night to sundown Saturday night. At camp, we end each week by coming together to prepare for Shabbat. During out Shabbat celebration we sing songs, award the weekly spirit stick, celebrate community, and reflect on a great week at camp.

Ruach is a Hebrew word that means “spirit”. This ”spirit” squad, consisting of Day Camp staff, leads the morning songs and gets the campers excited for the day each morning.

THE ULTIMATE CAMP EXPERIENCE! Campers participate in a wide variety of activities each day. Programming is built to encourage campers to make new friends, try new things, foster self confidence and have fun.
The Spirit Stick is the branch of a tree from our ancient campground, imbued with the ruach (spirit) of generations of Campers and Camp counselors.Each week this legendary stick is awarded to the group who has shown the most MJCC Day Camp spirit that week.
Each summer 2 Israeli teens come to Memphis to be part of MJCC Day Camp through the Israeli Scouts Summer Delegation program. They share their backgrounds and experiences with campers and counselors, teaching them about Israel’s culture and history.
