Rising 1st–6th Graders*

All sports campers swim twice a day; instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. Within each sports camp, campers are divided by age and ability, while following the same daily schedule.
Cheer/Gymnastics - Week 1
There is so much to cheer about in this fun, high energy week. Campers will learn chants and cheers, as well as stunts and tumbling skills. Campers should wear athletic shoes each day to Cheer and Gymnastics Camp.
British Soccer - Week 1
Challenger Sports returns to the MJCC for a 5th summer! The British Soccer Camp program will contain Challenger’s own brand of innovative practices, coached games, camp world cup, cultural education, character building and FUN!
Football - Week 2
Flag football camp will focus on enhancing campers' knowledge of strategy and plays. Each day campers will enjoy working on offensive and defensive drills, agility, passing, catching and kicking. Campers will play in scrimmages and have an awesome week of football fun!
Tennis - Weeks 2, 5 and 6
Tennis Campers will learn basic fundamentals including footwork drills, games, strategy and match play all while having tons of fun! Campers will be grouped according to age and/or skill and are encouraged to bring their own tennis racquet. Space is limited to 15 campers per week.
Basketball - Weeks 3 and 7
Anthony Douglass, former University of Memphis Tigers basketball player and experienced coach, is back at the MJCC for an exciting camp filled with action, fun and basketball development. Campers will focus on fundamental skills and enjoy daily games and competitions.
All-Star Sports - Weeks 5 and 8
All-Star Sports is for the camper who enjoys all sports. From basketball, soccer and kickball, to tennis, wall ball and gaga, campers will have fun participating in a variety of sports. Campers will also take one sports-related field trip. There will be a Field Trip!
J Ninja Warrior - Week 6
J Ninja Warrior Camp is designed for youth to be active in a fun and exciting environment with a week of non-stop action. Campers will participate in fun physical activities with obstacle courses, progressive relays and team-based challenges. This camp will give campers a fun approach to fitness as they work on coordination/footwork, grip strength, speed, agility, balance, general strength/stamina, and mobility. We will use everything from agility ladders, ropes, TRX® Suspension Training, slam balls, body weight and a whole lot more!
TetraBrazil Soccer - Week 4
The Challenger Sports TetraBrazil Program provides players with authentic Brazilian coaching right here at the MJCC! Campers will enjoy Brazilian warm-ups, work on fast footwork and fun brazilian moves!
Aikido - Week 8
Experience Aikido, a nonviolent Japanese martial art! Aikido campers will learn defensive techniques, rolling and falling, and wooden staff forms through traditional training, Samurai games, and fitness enhancement drills. In addition, Aikido Camp will present Kidpower® stranger safety and anti-bullying strategies in a safe, confidence building environment. All levels welcome!
