All specialty campers swim twice a day; instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. Within each specialty camp, campers are divided by age and ability, while following the same daily schedule.
Each week of LEGO® Camp will have a different theme that brings new LEGO® challenges, LEGO® games and awesome creations!
LEGO® City - Week 1
Would you like to build and be the Mayor of an entire city of LEGOs? Join us for a fun week of discovering the best way to build houses, cars, buildings, and more!
Across the USA - Week 5
Go on a LEGO adventure across the United States! Visit tourist attractions, landmarks, and monuments LEGO style.
Advanced LEGO® (Grades 3–6) - Week 7
This week will bring bigger and more complex LEGO® challenges and activities along with LEGO® animation. For campers entering 3rd-6th grade.
Maker - Week 3
Create, Design, and Innovate! Join the Maker Movement with us this summer. This camp is all about tinkering; hands-on experiments, learning from failures, and guided time to invent and explore. Learn about light and electricity through paper circuits, engineering through cardboard structures, and more!
Circus - Weeks 2-3
Come join the Starfish Circus! Aerial skills and acrobatics, balancing, juggling, and clowning around are a few of the fun things to do! For two weeks, campers learn circus skills and routines; which culminates in a final circus show. The performance for parents is Thursday, June 21, and for camp on Friday, June 22.
S.T.E.A.M. - Weeks 2 and 4
Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math! Campers will enjoy a variety of fun challenges and cool hands-on activities, such as launching balloon rockets, engineering robots, creating stop motion videos, and more! Week 2 and Week 4 will have different activities for twice the STEAM fun in one summer.
Painting and Sculpture - Weeks 4-5
Campers will create works of art using both painting and sculpture techniques. The first week will focus on relief collage and the second week on mask making. This two week camp will end in a final art show in the MJCC Shainberg Art Gallery for parents on Thursday, July 5 and for camp on Friday, July 6.
Printmaking and Origami - Week 8
Campers will explore various types of printmaking processes and several origami forms.
Theatre - Weeks 6-7 (Grades 2-6)
Act, sing, and dance your way through summer with Theatre Camp! Learn theatre appreciation, acting skills, movement, and work on stage presence. Theatre Camp ends with a performance by campers for parents on Thursday, July 19 and for camp on Friday, July 20.
Chess - Week 7
Chess Camp welcomes beginner chess players to a positive environment for fun, learning, and achievement. Hand selected instructors have been trained by Grandmaster Alexander Stripunsky and International Master Jake Kleiman.Come check out this noble game that Mid-South Chess considers an art, a science, and a sport!
Rock - Week 8
Have a ROCKIN' good time at this year's Rock Camp where campers will get the chance to play different instruments and rock out to some of their favorite songs. If your camper has played an instrument for years or never at all, we have a spot for you. This camp is designed to make music fun. You never know who may stop in and play a few songs.
